My Favorite Adam Sandler Movies
One of the most endearing Adam Sandler films is The Wedding Singer (1998). Unlike his more outrageous comedies, this movie has a perfect mix of humor, romance, and 1980s nostalgia. Sandler plays Robbie Hart, a kind-hearted wedding singer who gets left at the altar and struggles to move on. His chemistry with Drew Barrymore as Julia is undeniable, making this one of the most charming romantic comedies of all time. The humor is lighthearted, the music is fantastic, and the heartfelt moments make this film one that I can watch over and over again.

Another classic is The Waterboy (1998), which showcases Sandler’s ability to create eccentric and lovable characters. Bobby Boucher, a socially awkward waterboy-turned-football-star, is one of his most iconic roles. The movie is full of quotable lines, hilarious physical comedy, and a surprisingly uplifting story about self-confidence and proving people wrong. It’s impossible not to root for Bobby as he overcomes his fears and discovers his inner strength.
Big Daddy (1999) is another standout because it balances comedy with heartfelt storytelling. Sandler plays Sonny Koufax, a lazy man-child who suddenly finds himself caring for a young boy named Julian. While the film is full of classic Sandler humor, it also has some of the most emotional scenes of his career. Watching Sonny evolve from an irresponsible slacker to a loving father figure makes this movie one of his most touching performances. It’s a film that makes me laugh but also pulls at my heartstrings every time I watch it.

While Sandler is best known for his comedies, Spanglish (2004) proves that he has serious acting chops. In this film, he plays John Clasky, a kind but overwhelmed father navigating the complexities of marriage and cultural differences. The movie offers a more mature and nuanced performance from Sandler, showing that he can excel in dramatic roles as well. Spanglish is a beautifully told story about love, family, and communication, and it remains one of his most underrated performances.
However, my all-time favorite Adam Sandler movie is Anger Management (2003). This film is an absolute riot, with Sandler playing Dave Buznik, a mild-mannered guy forced into anger management therapy with an eccentric therapist played by Jack Nicholson. The dynamic between Sandler and Nicholson is pure gold, making for some of the funniest and most unpredictable moments in any Sandler film. The absurdity of Dave’s situation, combined with the hilarious interactions between the characters, makes this my ultimate comfort movie.

Adam Sandler’s films have been a major part of my movie-watching experience, and each of these movies holds a special place in my heart. Whether he’s making me laugh, cry, or root for the underdog, Sandler’s ability to create unforgettable characters and stories is what makes him one of my favorite actors.
